    Coach Pido Jarencio as he escort Mrs. Francisco away from the ADMU crowd..an incident happened August 4 on ADMU-UST match up when the Blue Babble Batallion exceeded their half-time 'show'.. The buzzer sounded for three times to inform the BBB that they exceeded their time already. As for the Yellow crowd's disgust, they beat their drum and cheer the go USTe even before BBB exited the court.

    COMMENT:
    it was a bit annoying when the BBB...well the drummers anyway was still cheering on...

    halftime stats and reports have been said and done...yet there they were...

    the buzzer sound 3 times at least...and the commentators not talking anymore, but still the band went on...

    I’m glad that the barker made that announcement right after the BBB’s number. It showed everyone – coliseum spectators and television viewers – that rules and/or policies are seriously upheld. If it were done during the latter part of the game, or after, the message would not have been that strong. I have a feeling - just a feeling - that there were Ateneans who were already feeling a bit embarrassed by the BBB's lengthy extravaganza even before the announcement came. The 5-min rule performance per school during halftime has been in effect for quite some time now. The limit is primarily bec. games are being covered live with specified time slots available for the uaap games. And in television, a second is precious airtime. Meaning if you go overtime, that's additional cost (not profit) for studio 23. Although there were some instances that some squads went overtime but not like what happened yesterday. The BBB went into self-gratification mode; they should remember that they are just a sideshow and people went to cuneta to watch a basketball game.
    Generally, we do have lots of patience. A few seconds or even a minute of extended performance, we could easily take for granted but not like what bbb did. Several times, the buzzer was sounded giving them notice that it's time to go but they did not stop.


    Go, Mrs. Francisco! I think she did the right thing handing that letter to the barker for him to read. When she signalled that it was okay for the ust side to cheer, she did not violate anything. The time that the bbb was using was no longer the time dedicated for their performance. In short, ust had to enforce its right given the refusal of the bbb to stop their antics.


    As for the UST crowd’s cheering even though there were still Ateneans drumming away on the court, well, I think it was a statement: The performance was painfully long and the time that the BBB was still continuously consuming was not theirs anymore. The sound of the buzzer (not just once, twice, - how many times again?) signaled for them to stop. However, I think it would be quite brutal not to let a pep squad finish its performance.

    As for ADMU crowd, i know some of them didn't like what BBB did because they know they've been intervening the game..if BBB wants to show their cheering 'talent', then wait for the cheering competition.

    It's all a matter of giving equal time, equal space and BBB certainly violated it. When you know that there's a 5-min rule, make sure that your performance does not go beyond the limit. And if you do, and once the rule has been applied, then be ready to pay for the consequence of your action. Rules are rules.


    With all this stuff happening, the UAAP season 70 really is 'MADRAMA'!

    atleast the Tigers won! enough to give 'others' what they were looking for..'what goes around comes around'..

    I can and will proudly say that UST proved everyone that last year's championship is no mere 'LUCK'!
