...the girl, JOAN.

*I love the city life, but I'll always be a small town girl at heart.

*I never regret a thing, it's a wasted emotion

*I live life to the fullest each day. I've seen that life is just too short not to take chances.

*I am outgoing and i do crazy stuff especially when i'm with my friends

*I love taking pictures and writing on my blog so that someday, I can say these words to myself:
"..I have lived a happy life."

*I don't let things bother me or get in my way..I will succeed because I know I will.

*I am a risk-taker; what's the sense of making mistakes if you can't learn from them?

*Nothing could go wrong if I just follow my heart

*What doesn't kill you will make you stronger and tougher.

...FALLING STAR

I wished upon a shooting star Falling to it's death
My wish came true
It brought me to you
But only to show me
Just to share with me
What I can't have
I am like a star
Flickering in the night
One minute you make me feel so right
The next second I run away
Afraid of being happy
I am an angel with a broken wing
I hide it with a mask
I have so many deep wounds
I have been scared
It is not my fault that I am this way
He did it to me
He cut me so deep
There's so much hurt inside
I have hidden it well
But my heart has been torn
I feel like Hell
Please heal my wounds
Help me to love you
I already do
but help me to stay by your side
Before I fall to my lonely death
Just like the star that brought me to you

The Confirmation of Adulthood is the one of the most precious moment for all the active teen parishioners in St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church. However, this confirmation is not an easy catch. It is not as easy as a snap. Believe it or not, some of the active teen parishioners did not receive it because they did not work for it. The confirmation will be given to the qualified teenagers who will turn 18 yrs. old (start of adulthood).

As a tradition in the church, you have to work voluntarily in the church for you to be able to qualify for the confirmation. Participate in the church activities, serve in the mass, volunteer in goodwill works. The hours you spent in the church activities will be added automatically on your 'work hours'. All of the work hours will be added and the sum must be equal to 100 hours for you to qualify.

Most of my friends in the church who were already confirmed told me that they didn't even noticed that they've already reach the 100 hours; some even said that they exceed the 'work hours'. They were still working voluntarily in the church these days, but without the pressure on meeting the work hours.

Today, there is a Summer School Bible Study for kids from 1st Grade to 5th Grade. I have decided to participate on the activities to add some for my work hours. I also wanted to see my former students when i'm still teaching the 3rd Grader about God (i quit teaching last april). The activities were fun! we played games, watch movies, eat pizza and ofcourse, study about God. Joshua, Mrs. Lynda and I were assigned to lead the 3rd graders. I like the the obstacle run because it's very simple yet challenging for me. The least game that i like is the charades. I was the first time to do the actions while my teammates will guess it. hello? how would i suppose to act the 'acts of the apostle' in a serious and non-offensive way? (remember, the topic is about God and The Bible so it's really hard not to make funny gestures). I was the first one so i really don't know what to do. And my team haven't talked about our strategy so it's really hard for me. I know that if they got the first word, which is acts, they can answer it. So i act like a celebrity, as a star, and 'act'-ress. Whatever! Atleast they got the right answer before we run out of time. All in all, the winning team is the 5th graders led by Jai, Mandy and Ms. Sandy. They were good, plus they have an advantage compare to other teams because of their height. My team is in second place.

After the games, they give special awards. The 4th Graders won as the Sporting Team. The 5th Graders were the Best Team. My team is the Charade Team and guess what? i won as the Best Actress in Charade! Simon (4th Graders team)did a great job on acting the 'Creation' so he won as the Best Actor. Jai won as the Mr. Bond (may pa-cheer-cheer pa kasi nalalaman). Simon told me that we're a good team (we won the Mr. and Ms. Friendship in the SPBCC Gathering and now, we got the Best Actor and Best Actress award).

My friend, Macey, cancelled her flight to California just to participate in this activity. She still need to add 8 hours to be able to be confirmed this July (Macey's 18th birthday is in July). I told her I can give her some of my hours since my 18th birthday is in April which is next year pa naman and i have plenty of time to work. She said that it won't be necessary, I worked for those hours so i'll benefit on that. As for me, I have worked 37 hours already! yipeee..i've been participating well on the church's activities. I started working last January and after 5 months, i have 37 hours na! i guess i have to double my efforts to be able to qualify for my confirmation next year.

It's been a great day. I added 3 hours for my 'work hours'. And most of all, i spent another fruitful day in the church activities with my friends and colleagues. They've been great to me ever since i came here. I enjoyed working with them. i don't really care about the work hours, the time i spent with the people in the church is more important. The experience i've learned from them is incomparable, immeasurable..

    SMILE...you're with me!
